Biography
After graduating in Computer Science from the University of NSW, I held a programmer position at IPS Radio and Space Sciences in Sydney, then an Analyst/Programmer position at the Head Office of DMR consulting in Montreal, Canada. I returned to Australia as a Senior Analyst/Programmer at the AGSM, UNSW, then took up a position for 3 years as a Technical Analyst at Oxford University Press in Oxford UK.
I commenced a PhD program at ANU in 1991, and took up a research position at CSIRO, Canberra in 1995. In CSIRO I have worked on data and system integration technologies, predominantly in areas applied to natural resource management but also in bioinformatics, business enterprise, health, and defence.
