Science Area
Biography
Qing is a research scientist at the Tasmanian ICT Centre. Currently she is working on the Provenance and Water Data Transfer Format projects. Her research focus is to develop effective and efficient solutions for managing, integrating and analysing large amount of complex datasets. She has been working on bioinformatics, hydrology, spatial and spatial-temporal applications. In 2006, Qing was engaged in the spatio-temporal data management project when she worked as a researcher with Prof. Xiaofang Zhou at The University of Queensland. She completed her PhD (Computer Science) at The University of New South Wales with Prof. Xuemin Lin from 2002 to 2005. Her PhD thesis topic is summarization of very large spatial data set.
